Winter Learning Journey - Day 2 - Activity 1 and 2

Day 2 - Activity 1 - The Place I've Most Enjoyed!

Activity 1: After a very busy day of sightseeing you and your group drive from Tane Mahuta to your hotel in Dargaville. When you arrive you decide to sit down and record your thoughts in your travel diary. Before you start writing, take a minute to read more about Rangitoto island, Karekare beach and Tane Mahuta.  On your blog, tell us which of the three places you most enjoyed visiting and why.

My Favourite place was Rangitoto Island! I chose this because It was Adventurous also who would not want to go to Rangitoto Island, It is a Beautiful landscape and also good exercises for you. I t also has a Beautiful view at the top!
Day 1 Activity 2 -
Activity 2: As an island nation, New Zealand is completely surrounded by water. It is the perfect place for people who like to swim or to sail! While in Dargaville, recovering from your busy day of sightseeing, you notice a number sailboats going by. One of the boats is manned by a young German girl named Laura Dekker. At the age of fourteen she sailed around the world the entire world by herself. You can watch a short video clip about her adventures here: Laura Dekker sailing trip.
Let’s imagine that you had the chance to interview Laura while in Dargaville. On your blog post five questions that you would ask her.
1st Question: What made you travel to the french Polynesia?
2nd Question: 2nd Question: Why did want to be the world’s youngest sailor?
3rd Question: At what age did you learn how to sail?
4th Question: If you had to come back, where would you visit first?
5th Question: Would you live in one of these Islands?

  1. Kia Orana Joseph,

Welcome back to the Winter Learning Journey programme. My name is Jacinta and I will be blogging with you through the school holidays. How exciting!

I am very pleased to see the amount of effort you have put in to complete Day 2, Activity 1 and 2. Your reasons for selecting Rangitoto Island as your favorite place is surely true in terms of keeping fit on a beautiful Island.

As you generated your questions for Laura, I was proud to see that you labelled each question clearly and carefully thought through a range of questions for her to answer. I am so excited to see her response.

You have started off with amazing work Joseph. Keep it up!

    Cheers,

    Jacinta
